I was born in 1960 to a father who was a photographer in the RCAF and later worked as staff photographer for a couple of small newspapers. I guess my interest in photography started with wanting to play with his photo equipment.
My real interest in photograpy began about twenty years ago when I started dabbling with 35mm cameras. The process of understanding camera settings, and how to "see" an image before committing to film, all of this fascinated me. However film was expensive and I had too little time to invest in learning all that needed to be learned. My interest in photography was put on the backburner.
Then came digital cameras! And for me, the whole world changed. I could take dozens of images and see what worked and what didn't work. And I could use computers to manipulate the images.
